So I have been struggling to come up with the money for a plane ticket to Orlando, FL for the BlackBerry 10 Jam Developer Conference. I have pretty much been unsuccessful. So I created a GoFundMe.com page and passed out the link to everyone I know. Within a few hours, I got a reply from my friend Art at Nerdberry.net saying that he forwarded the link on to some people and someone from RIM said that might be able to help out. I hear a bit after that, that it is a sure thing.
Anyway I woke up this morning to an email stating that I was being invited to attend the conference. In addition to my already free registration, I was being offered 4 night stay at one of the conference hotels, along with air travel paid.
Of course I replied promptly to this email, since I was super excited and almost fell out of bed when I read the email. Now I am just waiting to hear back about the details.
This just reaffirms my love of RIM and the BlackBerry. I will always be a BlackBerry owner, and I look forward to learning all the various tools and features of the new BlackBerry 10 OS so that I can produce some “must have” applications for when it launches.
Thank you RIM, you truly do care about your development community.

My name is Neil Jackson and I’m currently seeking a full time role in the field of my college major, software engineering. Although I do not yet have a lot of experience in my area of study, I’m passionate about all things technical and am proficient in several programming languages and software platforms, as you will see upon reviewing my resume. To finance my education, I am working as a freelance application designer.
I chose to study software engineering because I enjoy staying current on electronics, software and mobile trends and hope to contribute to design, creation, and rollout of future “must haves” in technology. I feel that I can be a great asset to any company because I am willing to give a great effort and I enjoy learning new things, and try to learn as much as possible. Thank for your time and providing me with the opportunity to introduce myself. I look forward to speaking further with you about how I may be a good fit for your organization.
